One is to participate in the invention of new media
technologies, experimenting with new genres, bringing
our knowledge of traditional media and our inventiveness
to bear on new capabilities.
The second is to nurture and guide the next generation
of media designers into the digital age, providing
exposure to and experience with the latest tools,
perspectives on the creative process, and approaches
to developing high quality, compelling new media products.
The third is the more traditional role of universities
- to conduct research on the process, design and impacts
of new media.
The interactive diagram below demonstrates the
overlapping areas of DMAT, including media design, graphic
design, and software design. Use the diagram to learn
about the industries our graduates find jobs in, media
types developed, the courses that are offered, the production
and research facilities available, and the student groups
within the DMAT area.
